A quick trip through Michigan and most of Indiana

Just a quick note to update the blog on our first day's progress.

We had a timely departure from Lapeer and while most of the day was in fair weather conditions our arrival in Terre Haute was in a pretty steady downpour. They need the rain and we have become more experienced in setting up the trailer so we weren't outside for very long.

Too bad were not staying her longer as they gave us a deluxe site that includes a very nice patio set up. Maybe another time.

For the next few days we are keeping the trailer hooked to the Tahoe as it saves a lot of time and trouble by not unhooking each time. Once we arrive in Rio Rancho, New Mexico we will unhook for a few days of sightseeing around Santa Fe and Albuquerque.

We did have one hitch when we hooked up today because I forgot to put the outside plug in the water heater so we were struggling to figure out why we had no water even after I turned it on outside. It was all flowing down the outside of the trailer. Once the plug was installed, all worked perfectly.

We are staying in the Terre Haute KOA and the park delivered some home made cookies to our site a short time after we arrived. Nice touch.

We are settled in for a night of computer games and cable TV and will likely depart about 8:30 a.m. tomorrow with a planned destination of Springfield, Missouri.

We'll check back then.
